Shipbuilding Contract with European Shipping Company
Sequential Delivery by June 2028

HD Hyundai's shipbuilding division holding company, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, has succeeded in securing a large-scale ship order.
On the 15th, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering announced that it recently signed a construction contract for 12 container ships of 15,500 TEU (1 TEU = one 20-foot container) class with a European shipping company. The contract value amounts to a total of 3.6832 trillion KRW.

The 12 container ships ordered this time will be built six each at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan and HD Hyundai Samho in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do, and will be sequentially delivered to the shipowner by June 2028.
These vessels will be equipped with eco-friendly equipment including LNG dual-fuel propulsion engines and waste heat recovery systems. The waste heat recovery system is a device that recovers waste heat generated from the engine and recycles it as an energy source.
An official from HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering said, "We will selectively secure high value-added ships and continuously improve profitability."
Including this order, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has secured a total of 144 vessels (including one offshore facility) worth 16.27 billion USD so far this year, achieving 120.5% of the annual target of 13.5 billion USD. With this, it became the first among the shipbuilding Big 3 to achieve its order target.
