Starbucks Korea will hold the 'Coffee Hour 25' event from the 15th to the 19th, selling three best-selling beverages at the same prices as when they were first introduced in Korea 25 years ago.

The prices for a tall size are 3,000 KRW for Americano, 3,500 KRW for Caffe Latte, and 4,000 KRW for Caramel Macchiato. Compared to the current prices (Americano 4,500 KRW, Caffe Latte 5,000 KRW, Caramel Macchiato 5,900 KRW), this is a discount of up to 1,900 KRW, which is an average discount of 32%.

All three target beverages can be chosen as hot, iced, or with blonde beans. If you change to decaffeinated or half-decaffeinated beans, an additional 300 KRW must be paid. The event hours are from 2 PM to 5 PM for three hours, and orders must be placed directly with the partner. The event benefits are not available for Siren Order, delivery, or drive-thru orders. Also, to minimize customer waiting time, a maximum of four drinks per receipt can be purchased for the event beverages. Personal cup discounts and eco star rewards are also applicable to the event beverages.
Starbucks Korea stated, "The Coffee Hour 25 event is part of the 'FESTIVAL FOR ALL' season and was planned to express our gratitude to customers who have loved Starbucks over the past 25 years," adding, "We will continue to offer various events until the end of August to maintain a festive atmosphere that everyone can enjoy."
Starbucks Korea entered the domestic market in 1999 by opening its first store, Ewha Store, in front of Ewha Womans University. As news of the 25th anniversary event spread, photos of the menu board from the time Starbucks Korea opened have been posted on various online communities, attracting attention. At that time, the cheapest beverage for a tall size was the Caffe Americano at 3,000 KRW, and the most expensive was the Mocha Valencia at 5,000 KRW.
Netizens who saw these photos commented, "Starbucks prices were really expensive back then," "Coffee prices have risen less than meal prices," "Other coffee shops' prices have increased a lot, so Starbucks has become relatively cheaper," and "Coffee prices were double the hourly wage back then." The minimum wage in 1999 was 1,600 KRW, and this year's minimum wage is 9,860 KRW.
