Hwaseong-si Children's Culture Center Hosts Special Summer Vacation Exhibition

'Let's Fly Together, Us' is an exhibition of works by Giuseppe Vitale, an Italian children's book author and atelierista (Reggio Emilia art educator). It can be viewed on the 3rd floor Outro of the center until September 29.

The artist conveys stories about relationships formed as children grow through the depiction of birds living in flocks and communicating through gestures. The exhibition is composed of 'Communicating Through Gestures,' focusing on parents and children, 'Let's Fly Together,' sharing experiences about friends, and 'Thoughts of Birds,' sharing ways to live with neighbors.

Visitors can participate in various ways, such as imitating bird movements to become part of the artwork or completing the artwork using drawing templates. The exhibition provides guides for guardians and audio guides by child docents to help appreciate the works.

The 'Sun King Suba' exhibition is based on the bestselling picture book for young children by author Lee Ji-eun, titled 'Sun King Suba: The Legend of the Watermelon.' It is held in the center lobby's Momo Lounge until the 28th.

While enjoying the artwork, visitors can roll dice to imagine stories and write new legends themselves, adding fun through various post-reading activities. A variety of picture books related to watermelons and a resting area are also provided to create a comfortable reading environment.

This exhibition was selected as part of Woongjin Junior Publishing's touring exhibition project and is open to the public free of charge. Detailed information about the special summer vacation exhibitions can be found on the center's website.

Shin Hyun-joo, Director of Welfare for Hwaseong City, said, "We hope this exhibition prepared for the summer will be a space to recharge tired bodies and minds from the heat," adding, "Special programs and performances that will enrich children's summer vacation will be presented soon."
