On the 13th (local time), Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon condemned the terrorist act and wished for the speedy recovery of former U.S. President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, who was shot during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
Mayor Oh stated on his Facebook, "It is a great shock that former U.S. President Donald Trump was shot during the campaign rally, but it is fortunate that he was only injured." He added, "Terrorism is the greatest enemy of democracy," emphasizing, "Any attempt to change the will of the people through a single bullet or a piece of fake news must never be tolerated." He continued, "I wish for former President Trump's speedy recovery and hope that the American people will wisely overcome this incident."
