On the 15th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the exhibition "Moments in Serpentine Pavilions: Public Spaces of Inspiration for All (2000?2024)" will be held at the Seoul Urban Architecture Exhibition Hall from July 19 to September 25.

The Serpentine Pavilion is an exhibition held at the Serpentine Gallery in London, UK, where each year world-famous architects design a temporary summer pavilion for the museum, showcasing the latest trends in architecture. This exhibition features 23 pavilions designed by global architects.

This is the first time in 25 years that an exhibition gathers all the Serpentine Pavilions in one place. Seoul city planned this exhibition to share a vision for public spaces.

Over the years, world-renowned architects such as Zaha Hadid and Frank Gehry have participated in this project, and this year, for the first time, a Korean architect has been selected, with architect Jominseok’s pavilion on display.

This is also an opportunity to appreciate works by world-famous photographer Iwan Baan, who has annually captured the historic Serpentine Pavilions through photography.

The exhibition is free to visit from July 19 to September 25, Tuesday through Sunday, at the Seoul Urban Architecture Exhibition Hall.

During the exhibition period, various related programs will be held, including a symposium on public spaces attended by Hans Ulrich Obrist, Art Director of the Serpentine Gallery; a talk by architect Jominseok about the 2024 Serpentine Pavilion; and a lecture by world-renowned photographer Iwan Baan.

Han Byung-yong, Director of the Housing Office of Seoul, said, "This exhibition will highlight innovations in contemporary architecture and design and provide an opportunity to newly recognize the importance of public spaces. It will be an exhibition showcasing works where architecture and photography transcend their boundaries and merge artistically and functionally, combining the unique characteristics of both fields to offer citizens a new visual experience."
