After Confessing Assault Victimization, Flood of Comments... What Happened to Tzyang's Channel?

Increase in New Subscribers Supporting After Confession of Assault Victim
Goodwill Rises as Donations and Volunteer Work Become Known

YouTuber Jjuyang has received continuous support from netizens, with her subscriber count increasing by about 300,000 within two days after she revealed the years of assault she suffered from her ex-boyfriend and agency CEO.

As of the afternoon of the 13th, Jjuyang's YouTube channel subscriber count surpassed 10.4 million. This is an increase of more than 300,000 subscribers from the 10.1 million subscribers she had during her live broadcast on the 11th. In the early hours of that day, she conducted a live broadcast titled "I will tell everything" on her YouTube channel. In the video, she disclosed that she suffered illegal filming, threats, and assault from her ex-boyfriend Mr. A, whom she dated four years ago. Jjuyang also revealed that a significant portion of her initial broadcast earnings was extorted by Mr. A.

Jjuyang confessed, "When I said I would quit this work, I was threatened that he would tell my family, and I was assaulted with objects like an umbrella," adding, "He hit my body saying the face shows it. I have done broadcasts after being hit in the face. All the money I earned when I first started broadcasting was taken by him." Toward the end of the broadcast, lawyers Kim Taeyeon and Kim Kiback from Taeyeon Law Office appeared and shared a horrifying audio file capturing Jjuyang screaming during brutal assaults by her ex-boyfriend, along with photos showing bruises and wounds all over her body from the assaults. They stated, "We have filed a criminal complaint on charges including sexual assault, habitual assault, habitual threats, habitual injury, extortion (including attempted), coercion (including attempted), and obscenity using communication media," and added, "There are over 3,000 recorded evidences and a vast amount of photographic evidence."

However, during the lawsuit process, Mr. A died by suicide, resulting in the case being closed with a 'no prosecution' decision due to lack of prosecutorial rights. Lawyer Kim Taeyeon explained, "The unpaid settlement amount Jjuyang did not receive is at least 4 billion KRW," and said, "By the time the lawsuit was underway, much of the money had already been used at Mr. A's discretion, so the remaining amount did not reach the unpaid settlement. Still, she could have received some settlement money."

This live video has attracted significant attention, surpassing 8.03 million views as of the afternoon of the 13th. Netizens who watched the video expressed outrage at the inhumane crimes of the ex-boyfriend and supported Jjuyang by clicking 'subscribe' and 'like,' recognizing her continuous broadcasting activities, donations, and volunteer work despite enduring long-term suffering.

Comments on Jjuyang’s recent YouTube videos include, "Jjuyang is not a victim but a survivor," "I support Jjuyang for her great courage to talk about something she doesn’t even want to recall," "How much pain she must have endured for such a long time," "It’s in the past and Jjuyang is not at fault," "Thank you for holding on," "Now that you have fans, you can feel safe," "Let’s be happy from now on," "I hope the bad guys get punished," and "Sorry for not recognizing your wounds," among many others.
