'Visiting Daejeon Hyeonchungwon' Kim Dong-yeon: "Ashamed Before the Fallen Heroes" Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon posted a message and photos on his SNS after paying respects at Daejeon National Cemetery on the 13th.

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon visited Daejeon National Cemetery on the 13th to pay respects and expressed shame before the heroes who sacrificed their lives. He then directly questioned which country's government the Yoon Seok-yeol administration is, accusing it of fostering tension and anxiety on the Korean Peninsula.

After paying respects at the cemetery, Governor Kim posted on his social media, stating, "The first anniversary of Chaesang-byeong's death in the line of duty is approaching," and pointed out, "It has been a year where everything was at a standstill."

He continued, "Nothing has been revealed, and no one has apologized or taken responsibility," adding, "I firmly vowed in front of the grave of a twenty-year-old young marine to uncover the truth and create a safe society where such incidents never happen again."

Furthermore, he said, "I also paid respects at the graves of the 46 Cheonan ship heroes, Lieutenant Han Joo-ho, and the fallen soldiers of the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong and the Yeonpyeong Island shelling," adding, "I felt ashamed before the heroes who died protecting our seas."

In particular, he questioned, "If you cannot protect the safety of border areas, then which country's government is one that stirs up tension and anxiety on the Korean Peninsula?" and emphasized, "Protecting the lives and safety of the people is the reason for a nation's existence, and it is the only thing politicians and public officials must uphold."

On the 12th, Governor Kim visited Purple Island in Sinan County, Jeollanam-do, promising support for mutual cooperation, visited the birthplace of former President Kim Dae-jung, and on his way back that day, stopped by Daejeon National Cemetery to pay respects.
