Boryeong Mud Festival and Sports Event Heat Up the Midsummer

From the 21st, Boryeong Mud Festival, National Marine Sports Games, and Boryeong Cup International Yacht Competition to Be Held in Succession

The West Coast's premier festival, the Mud Festival, and a major sports event will be held in Boryeong, Chungnam.

In addition, projects such as the Blue Hydrogen Plant and new energy industries, eco-friendly mobility, and the establishment of a global marine leisure tourism infrastructure are also being promoted.

On the 12th, Boryeong City announced these plans during a briefing on major business plans for the second half of the year.

Starting from the 21st, Boryeong will sequentially host the 27th Boryeong Mud Festival, the 16th National Marine Sports Festival, the 5th Island Day event, and the 2024 Boryeong Cup International Yacht Competition.

The city highlighted its major achievements in the first half of the year, including being selected as a candidate site for the Chungnam Opportunity Development Zone, attracting the 2025 Bicycle Day event, launching a large-scale sea cucumber production facility project, operating a pet beach at Daecheon Beach for visitors with companion dogs, and being recognized as an excellent institution in the comprehensive civil service evaluation.

Mayor Kim Dongil stated, "As we are at a point where we can fully promote large-scale new industries to prepare for Boryeong's future and make these projects visible, we will do our utmost to ensure that citizens can directly witness and experience Boryeong's development."
