Dobong-gu Creates Communication Platform with Youth for High-Quality Youth Policies
Three Relay Meetings with Young Entrepreneurs, Interns, and Musicians Held on July 16
'Youth Empathy Academy' Opens on September 4 with Talk Concert Featuring Two Department Heads and the District Mayor
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) is initiating communication with local youth.
The district announced that it will hold three consecutive relay meetings in July with youth participating in the projects to share their impressions, as well as a 'Youth Empathy Academy' in September for open and honest communication with young people.
A district official stated, "This is to directly inspect the youth policy sites of the 8th local government administration and to collect the voices of the youth, who are the main stakeholders, in order to enhance the completeness of the policies."
First, on July 16 at 2 p.m., a meeting will be held at the Dobong-gu Youth Startup Center with about 20 young entrepreneurs residing in the center. Through this meeting, the district plans to check if there are any difficulties in their business activities and to review the operation status of the Youth Startup Center.
Then, at 3:30 p.m., a meeting will be held at Jaunbong Hall in Dobong-gu Office with about 30 people involved in the Dobong-type Youth Internship program. Practical interns who started their internships at local public institutions and companies since April, along with participants preparing for visa issuance for overseas internships in the second half of the year, will gather to freely exchange their impressions and opinions.
Later, at 6:30 p.m., a conversation will take place with about 30 young musicians from Dobong-gu. The district will visit OPCD Eum Studio, a hub for young musicians, to listen to the difficulties faced by local young musicians, including WinG, the nation's top beatboxer.
On September 4, the district plans to hold the 'Youth Empathy Academy,' an event encompassing all youth in Dobong-gu. The 'Youth Empathy Academy' consists of Part 1, ‘Youth Empathy Special Lecture,’ and Part 2, ‘Youth Empathy Talk Concert with the Mayor.’
In Part 1, through a lecture by a guest speaker, a message of "comforting weary lives and supporting a hopeful tomorrow" will be delivered to the youth. In Part 2, Mayor Oh Eon-seok of Dobong-gu will take the stage to communicate with young people and discuss youth policies together. Opinions and suggestions from youth during the talk concert will be reviewed by departments and reflected in next year’s policies.
Mayor Oh Eon-seok of Dobong-gu said, "Youth policies of the 8th local government administration, such as the Youth Startup Center, Youth Employment Support Center, and Dobong-type Youth Internship, are the results of incorporating the voices of young people," adding, "We will continue to create a city where youth want to live through constant communication with them."
