With the unveiling of Samsung Electronics' new foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 series, the distribution industry has begun pre-sales. Distribution companies plan to target consumers through live broadcasts and discount benefits to capitalize on the launch of the highly anticipated Galaxy smartphone new products.

According to the distribution industry on the 11th, major e-commerce platforms, department stores, and home appliance retailers will simultaneously start pre-sales of the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 from midnight (12 AM) on the 12th. Earlier, Samsung Electronics held the 'Galaxy Unpacked 2024' event on the 10th (local time) at the underground exhibition hall of the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, unveiling the ▲Galaxy Z Flip and Fold6 series ▲Galaxy Watch7 and Watch Ultra ▲Galaxy Buds3 and Galaxy Buds3 Pro ▲Galaxy Ring.

The distribution industry plans to offer discount benefits on the Galaxy new products through live commerce broadcasts timed with the start of pre-sales.

The e-commerce sector aims to drive the popularity of the Galaxy new products through live commerce broadcasts. Coupang will begin pre-sales of the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip6 series from midnight on the day and plans to introduce the products via live commerce. Customers who purchase the Galaxy new products through Coupang can receive their products via Rocket Delivery, Coupang’s own delivery network.

Previously, Coupang started accepting pre-order notification requests for the Galaxy new products from the 4th.

11st will also start pre-sales of the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 unlocked models through a special live broadcast on the same day. The live broadcast will include product introductions such as artificial intelligence (AI) demonstrations. Additionally, customers who pre-purchase during the pre-sale period until the 18th will receive benefits such as credit card discounts and up to 22 months of interest-free installments (when paying with 11Pay). Furthermore, a 20,000 KRW discount coupon will be provided to those who participate in the pre-sale notification event.

Gmarket will start pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip6 through live broadcasts. Earlier, Gmarket conducted a two-hour live broadcast starting at midnight on the 11th, immediately after the unpacked event, limited to wearable products among the new releases. The broadcast, held on Gmarket’s live channel 'G Live,' pre-sold wearable new products such as ▲Galaxy Watch7 and Ultra ▲Galaxy Buds3 series. According to Gmarket, customers residing in the Seoul area who purchased products during the live broadcast can receive their products on the same day, the 11th. In addition, a 20,000 KRW overlapping discount coupon usable for pre-purchasing the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 is also provided.

Offline, pop-up stores for the Galaxy new products will open. Lotte Department Store will showcase the Galaxy Studio pop-up store, the largest in Korea, on the basement first floor of its key store, Jamsil Lotte World Mall. The pop-up store will display all the new products revealed at the unpacked event, including the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip6, Galaxy Watch7 and Watch Ultra, Galaxy Buds3 and Buds3 Pro, and Galaxy Ring. To celebrate the pop-up event, Lotte Department Store will give Lotte gift certificates worth up to 7.5% of the purchase amount for customers who buy Galaxy new products above a certain amount.

Hyundai Department Store will also hold a 'Galaxy Z' pop-up store at its Mokdong branch. Hyundai Department Store will offer pre-order customers up to a 30% discount on the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds new products compared to the initial sale price when pre-ordering the Galaxy Z series. Additionally, they will provide Samsung Care+ one-year damage protection and up to 200,000 KRW compensation vouchers for used phones.

Home appliance retailers will also conduct pre-orders for the Galaxy new products. Lotte Hi-Mart is running an event where customers who complete purchases during the pre-order period (12th to 18th) after applying for pre-purchase notifications will be entered into a draw to receive 20,000 L.Points. Electronic Land will provide discount coupons worth up to 20,000 KRW to customers who apply for pre-purchase notifications.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 have optimized Galaxy’s AI features for foldable phones. The Galaxy AI functions such as translation and text summarization have been configured to fit the foldable phone form factor with a folding screen. Both products are the thinnest and lightest in the history of the Z series, enhancing portability while strengthening durability, and are equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, optimized for AI smartphone computing.

The Galaxy Z Fold6 will be released in three colors: Silver Shadow, Pink, and Navy. Prices are ▲256GB at 2,229,700 KRW ▲512GB at 2,388,100 KRW ▲1TB at 2,704,900 KRW. The Galaxy Z Flip6 will be available in four colors: Blue, Silver Shadow, Yellow, and Mint, with prices of ▲256GB at 1,485,000 KRW ▲512GB at 1,643,400 KRW.
