The KOSPI closed at the 2890 level, supported by foreign buying. It even reached a 52-week high during the session.
On the 11th, the KOSPI closed at 2891.35, up 23.36 points (0.81%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, individuals and institutions sold net amounts of 353.9 billion KRW and 80.5 billion KRW respectively. Meanwhile, foreigners bought a net amount of 608 billion KRW.
By sector, steel and metals rose 3.75%. Securities also increased by 2.54%. Additionally, medical precision, telecommunications, and electric gas sectors rose more than 1%. Conversely, non-metallic minerals and service industries closed slightly lower.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 87,600 KRW, down 200 KRW (0.23%) from the previous trading day. POSCO Holdings surged 6.24%. LG Energy Solution and Samsung SDI rose 3.59% and 4.42% respectively. KB Financial Group, Samsung C&T, and LG Chem also increased by more than 2%. Meanwhile, NAVER remained near flat.
On this day, 442 KOSPI stocks rose without any hitting the upper limit, while 415 stocks fell without any hitting the lower limit. Seventy-six stocks closed unchanged.
The KOSDAQ closed at 852.42, down 6.13 points (0.71%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, individuals bought a net amount of 197.1 billion KRW. In contrast, foreigners and institutions sold net amounts of 6.5 billion KRW and 162.2 billion KRW respectively.
By sector, construction, distribution, and metals recorded slight gains. Conversely, publishing and media reproduction fell 2.07%. Pharmaceuticals, medical precision instruments, and finance sectors closed down more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed at 189,000 KRW, down 500 KRW (0.26%) from the previous trading day. HLB and Ligachem Bio fell more than 4%. Samchundang Pharmaceutical and Enchem declined more than 3%. On the other hand, HPSP surged 7.66%. Silicon Two also rose more than 5%.
On the KOSDAQ, KoAsia CM and Lapas hit the upper limit, with 669 stocks rising. Meanwhile, 869 stocks fell without any hitting the lower limit, and 118 stocks closed unchanged.
