[Special Stock] Jeju Maekju Highlights Distribution of China's Best-Selling Beer Worldwide Increasingly Upward

Jeju Beer is gaining momentum. This is interpreted as being influenced by the news that it will distribute 'Seolhwa Beer' from Hualun Brewery, a leading Chinese beer company, in the domestic market.

As of 1:53 PM on the 11th, Jeju Beer is trading at 1,627 KRW, up 17.3% compared to the previous day.

According to the industry, Jeju Beer signed an exclusive domestic distribution contract with Hualun Brewery last month and is selling the Chinese beer Seolhwa Beer through entertainment channels such as restaurants and bars. After gauging market response, Jeju Beer plans to launch it for home use through convenience stores and large supermarkets.

Seolhwa Beer is a lager product launched in 1994 by Hualun Brewery, established in 1936, and is also famous as one of the best-selling beers worldwide. Hualun Brewery's market share in China was 31.9% as of 2022, a 9 percentage point lead over the second-ranked Tsingtao Beer (22.9%). It is also a large-scale liquor company that recorded sales of 38.93 billion yuan (approximately 7.37 trillion KRW) last year.

Jeju Beer aims to rebound its performance through Seolhwa Beer. While the craft beer industry experiences ups and downs, it plans to target the domestic market focused on lagers with Seolhwa Beer.
