Dobong-gu Establishes Water Barrier Inspection Plan Early This Month... Intensive Inspection Throughout July
Focus on Loss, Damage, and Deformation of Water Barriers Installed in 781 Households
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) is conducting inspections of flood barriers to prevent flooding accidents in semi-basement houses caused by heavy rain.
The district announced that it established an inspection plan for flood barriers in semi-basement houses earlier this month and is currently inspecting 781 households with installed flood barriers.
The inspection team consists of 10 people, including district employees and installation company representatives, and inspections are being carried out according to a detailed daily schedule. The inspections will continue throughout July.
The main inspection items include ▲loss or damage ▲deformation ▲abnormalities in support joint parts of the flood barriers. Minor issues are addressed immediately on-site, and if the barrier has lost its primary function, it will be reinstalled.
Along with the inspections, the district is also focusing on public awareness. Currently, the district is providing flood barrier inspection guidance and flood prevention methods through IPTV at the district office and community centers, as well as through neighborhood meetings.
A district official stated, “If any problems occur with the flood barriers, please contact the Dobong-gu Office Water Management Division or the local community center promptly to ensure quick action.”
On July 1, ahead of the full rainy season, the district conducted a large-scale inspection of semi-basement houses in areas with high flood risk. Mayor Oh Eon-seok, who participated in the inspection, carefully checked flood barriers, operable security windows, and other evacuation facilities, urging staff to “do their best to implement flood control measures to prevent any loss of life or property for residents.”
