At the TV debate for the People Power Party's party leader candidates, Han Dong-hoon, Na Kyung-won, and Won Hee-ryong chose President Yoon Seok-yeol as the "more difficult person" if they become party leader, while Yoon Sang-hyun selected former Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung.

At the first televised debate of the People Power Party's party leader candidates held on the 9th on TV Chosun, the four candidates were asked the common question in the "Balance Game" segment: "If you become party leader, who would be the more difficult person, Yoon Seok-yeol or Lee Jae-myung?" They answered as follows.

Candidate Han Dong-hoon said, "We are currently in a structure where we cannot gain a reflexive benefit just because former leader Lee is making mistakes," and explained his choice of President Yoon by saying, "We can only win if we succeed with President Yoon in this government. Our challenge lies not with former leader Lee but with ourselves."

Candidate Na Kyung-won stated, "The same side is more difficult," adding, "The relationship between the party and the government is the most important for conservatives to regain power, and we should neither be too cautious and led around nor be too confrontational with the president." She continued, "It is very difficult to strike the right middle balance."

Candidate Won Hee-ryong also said, "Former leader Lee created one-party dictatorship, so we only need to deal with him," but added, "However, President Yoon has to lead many aides in the presidential office, ministers of various departments, and lawmakers, which makes it much more difficult to handle."

The only candidate who answered that "former leader Lee is more difficult," Yoon Sang-hyun said, "President Yoon is a man with heart," and explained, "In Yeouido politics, I have never met anyone whose heart matches mine as much as President Yoon’s, so if there is trust, everything can work." On the other hand, he added, "Former leader Lee has too many judicial risks and must become president next time, so he is an opponent with whom dialogue is impossible."
