According to industry sources on the 9th, Kim Ju-seon, President of SK Hynix AI Infrastructure, will deliver a keynote speech at 'Semicon Taiwan' on September 4 in Taipei, Taiwan. This will be the first time SK Hynix has given a keynote speech at Semicon Taiwan.
Semicon Taiwan is the largest semiconductor industry exhibition in Taiwan, hosted by the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI). Around 1,000 global companies, centered on Taiwanese firms including TSMC, gather to showcase semiconductor materials, equipment, and related technologies.
President Kim is expected to mention AI semiconductors such as high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and collaboration with TSMC as the keynote speaker at the 'CEO Summit' during the event.
SEMI stated, "At the CEO Summit, executives from Applied Materials, IMEC, Marvell, Microsoft, Quanta, SK Hynix, and TSMC will gather to discuss innovations that will shape the future of the semiconductor industry."
SK Hynix is strengthening cooperation with TSMC to develop and mass-produce next-generation customized HBM. Earlier, in April, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for technical cooperation to develop the 6th generation high-bandwidth memory HBM4. SK Hynix plans to utilize TSMC's advanced logic processes for base die production to enhance performance starting from HBM4 and aims to mass-produce HBM4 from 2025 based on this collaboration.
Meanwhile, SK Hynix established the 'AI Infrastructure' organization at the end of last year through a corporate restructuring and appointed President Kim Ju-seon as its head. The AI Infrastructure organization is responsible for strengthening HBM capabilities and discovering new business opportunities.
