Sejong University announced on the 9th that it ranked first in Korea for two consecutive years in the '2024 Leiden Ranking,' which evaluates world universities based on the quality of their research papers.
Sejong University ranked 223rd globally and 30th in Asia. The Leiden Ranking, published by Leiden University in the Netherlands, evaluates universities based on the proportion of highly cited papers among all publications. Unlike other global university rankings that consider reputation, university size, and quantity of papers, the Leiden Ranking ranks solely based on the number of citations.
Sejong University also ranked first in Korea for five consecutive years in the international collaboration paper ratio. The international collaboration paper ratio is an important factor that leads to enhancing the university's reputation and attracting outstanding foreign students through the activation of international joint research.
A representative from Sejong University stated, “We are creating a culture focused on research achievements by directly reflecting research capabilities and academic performance in faculty recruitment and evaluation.”
