"High-Quality Crops Through Scientific Farming" ... Gyeongnam Nonghyup Provides Training for Young Farmers

Smart Agriculture Education Conducted

Gyeongnam Nonghyup conducted a 'Smart Agriculture Training' for young farmers who graduated from the Nonghyup Young Farmer Academy at Changhee Farm, a smart farm located in Gonmyeong-myeon, Sacheon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, on the 8th.

This training was carried out as part of the 'Gyeongnam Community' project, launched by Gyeongnam Nonghyup in April, to foster young farmers. The aim was to provide an opportunity for young farmers to scale up the agricultural techniques most necessary for establishing themselves in farming.

On this day, the young farmers toured the smart farm facilities operated by CEO Kim Changhee and received training to enhance their understanding of ▲the state-of-the-art thermal imaging sensor system ▲the wireless moisture content measurement system for substrate formation ▲the microclimate measurement system for crop environment data analysis.

Additionally, they learned practical skills in agricultural data analysis and how to derive situation-specific solutions through crop-specific cultivation algorithms, broadening their knowledge of advanced scientific farming for securing future agricultural competitiveness.

CEO Kim Changhee stated, "While agriculture is often considered a field where long experience and know-how are the secrets to success, the reality is quite different. Planning farming based on scientific data and consistently producing high-quality agricultural products is what advanced scientific farming is all about, and this is the most essential factor for securing competitiveness in future agriculture."

Seong Yeonjae, a young farmer who participated in the training, shared, "Thanks to the community organized by Nonghyup, I was able to receive high-quality training that is not easily accessible, and I am very grateful. I hope the community will continue to be more active and foster greater communication."

Head Cho Geunsu said, "The most urgent issue in agriculture and rural areas is continuously securing new young talent. We will continue to seek ways to foster young farmers that reflect the needs of the field and spare no support to help them grow into professional agricultural experts."
