Daegu Happy Dormitory Recruiting 300 University Students... Monthly Dormitory Fee 252,000 Won

Daegu City will be recruiting new residents for the second semester at the Daegu Happy Dormitory in Suchang-dong, Jung-gu, from the 10th to the 22nd.


The Daegu Happy Dormitory, which opened in March last year, was built to improve residential welfare for local university students and young people. Daegu City and the Korea Foundation for the Promotion of Private Schools invested 45.1 billion KRW to construct the dormitory, which was completed in February 2023 and is currently in operation. The building has two basement floors and 14 above-ground floors.

The dormitory has 503 rooms and can accommodate up to 1,000 residents. For this recruitment, about 300 new residents will be selected for the second semester, excluding those wishing to extend their stay.


Any university or graduate student in the Daegu or Gyeongbuk region is eligible to apply.


Applications can be submitted through the Daegu Happy Dormitory website.


For residents, the monthly dormitory fee is 252,000 KRW per person based on double occupancy, and meals are calculated separately at about 5,000 KRW per meal. In addition to the cafeteria, various amenities such as a fitness room, laundry room, and reading room are also available.


In particular, for the safety of residents, a biometric access control system is in place, and a 24-hour security system is maintained.


Meanwhile, on the first floor of the public facility connected to the dormitory, the 'Hope Closet' offers free rental of interview suits to job seekers, and the 'Youth Center' serves as a communication space for young people. On the second floor, the 'Regional University Cooperation Center' supports youth employment, entrepreneurship, and networking, helping residents prepare for life after graduation as much as possible.


Kim Jongchan, Director of University Policy at Daegu City, said, "Daegu Happy Dormitory is a student-centered facility established to improve the living environment of local university students and foster them as future talents," adding, "We hope that through the Happy Dormitory, university students will be able to settle in the local community and contribute to the region."
