A dirt path for barefoot walking has been created for the first time in Namdong-gu, Incheon.
Namdong-gu announced on the 9th that barefoot walking dirt paths have been established at four locations, including old downtown parks and sports facilities within the district.
The locations where the dirt paths were installed are ▲ Obong Neighborhood Park (Dorim-dong 631) ▲ Mansu 4 Green Space (Mansu-dong 1018-1) ▲ Guwol Sports Facility (Guwol-dong 1246) ▲ Neulsolgil Neighborhood Park (Nonhyeon-dong 738-8), totaling four places.
As barefoot walking, which promotes health and unity with nature, has gained popularity recently, and continuous requests for related facilities have been made since last year, the district created a 120-meter-long circular dirt path for residents' health and leisure.
In particular, to enhance the effectiveness of the project, the district referred to the "Barefoot Walking Path Standards" proposed by the Barefoot Walking National Movement Headquarters during the construction process. The dirt path was created by mixing loess and sandy soil, considering drainage, post-maintenance, and installation costs, without using underlying artificial materials or nonwoven fabrics.
Park Jonghyo, the district mayor, said, "We will continuously maintain the path so that residents can take care of their health through barefoot walking close to their homes and use it well."
