Completion of LX and Flood Analysis Policy Support Project
Osan City in Gyeonggi-do announced on the 8th that it has recently completed the "Osancheon Flood Analysis Policy Support Project," carried out in collaboration with the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation (LX).
Conducted over three months starting in April, this project was implemented to establish proactive disaster prevention measures in response to abnormal climate events such as extreme heavy rainfall.
Through this project, the city will utilize the LX platform to minimize citizen damage and support efficient policy decisions by analyzing administrative and spatial data to prepare for flood damage in Osancheon.
In particular, the data analysis results, which integrated administrative information with terrain and underground data, were loaded onto the cloud-based LX platform as map-based visualizations showing the distribution of underground buildings, locations of shelters relative to vulnerable groups, and more. The city plans to actively use these results for disaster prevention measures through training sessions for relevant department officials.
Lee Gwon-jae, mayor of Osan City, stated, "We will continue to establish efficient policies and proactive response plans through data utilization to enhance citizen safety and provide better administrative services."
