Police Investigate Special Aggravated Injury to Lineal Ascendant

A son was arrested by the police on suspicion of assaulting his mother in her 60s with a blunt weapon in Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi Province.

The Sosa Police Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, announced on the 6th that they have arrested and are investigating Mr. A, a man in his 30s, on charges of special injury to a family member. Mr. A is suspected of hitting his mother, Ms. B, in her 60s, with a blunt weapon on the street in Beombak-dong, Sosa-gu, Bucheon-si at around 11:46 a.m. that day.

Ms. B sustained a head injury and was transported to the hospital by the 119 emergency medical team, but her life is not in danger. The police, who responded to a report from a passerby, arrested Mr. A at the scene as a suspect caught in the act. Further investigation into the specific circumstances of the incident is planned.

A police official stated, "The suspect refused to give a statement, so the motive for the crime is completely unknown," and added, "We are considering whether to apply for an arrest warrant."
