Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) is recruiting applicants for the ‘Small Business Owners Restart Project’ support program until the 19th to alleviate the management burden of small business owners struggling due to the economic downturn.

According to Seo-gu on the 4th, the Small Business Owners Restart Project support program was launched to reduce the initial financial burden on small business owners who have reopened after closing their businesses and to promote stable management.

Following last year’s support of 60 million KRW for 14 locations, Seo-gu plans to provide up to 500,000 KRW per month, totaling 2.5 million KRW over five months this year as well.

Eligible applicants are tenant small business owners who operated a business for at least 60 days within three years prior to the announcement date in Seo-gu, closed their business, and then reopened between July 1, 2023, and the announcement date. Anyone with a monthly rent of 1 million KRW or less can apply.

However, those operating rent-free, those whose landlord is a spouse or direct family member, or those who have received similar support benefits in the past three years are excluded from the support.

Applications can be submitted by visiting the Seo-gu Small Business Management Support Center with the completed application form and required documents or through the website.

Jung Sohyun, Director of the Economic Division, said, “We hope this will be an opportunity for local small business owners struggling due to the economic recession and the impact of COVID-19 to make a new leap forward.”
