Five Outstanding Long-standing Companies Selected for Over 30 Years of Dedication to Local Economic Growth

On the 3rd, Lee Kangdeok, the Mayor of Pohang, visited "Unico Precision Chemical" (CEO Song Bangcharang), which was selected as the first Excellent Long-standing Company, to deliver a plaque and encourage the company's onsite workers.

About 20 company officials, including Mayor Lee Kangdeok, attended the plaque ceremony. Marking his 10th anniversary in office, Mayor Lee personally installed the plaque, communicated with the company’s CEO and employees who have led Pohang’s economy, and paid attention to the livelihood economy.

Unico Precision Chemical (CEO Song Bangcharang), established in 1976 as a chemical product manufacturer, has grown into a medium-sized company with an average of over 130 employees, producing high-performance surface treatment agents and precision chemical products, contributing to the development of the Pohang regional economy.

Mayor Lee Kangdeok stated, "Solid small and medium-sized enterprises are the backbone that firmly supports the regional economy," and added, "In the midst of rapidly changing business environments and the whirlwind of new industries, we will honor and actively support companies that have lasted for a long time through continuous technological development and leading business management."

The Pohang Excellent Long-standing Company Selection Project, launched for the first time this year, officially recognizes and honors companies that have devoted themselves to the growth and development of the regional economy for over 30 years. A total of five companies, including Unico Precision Chemical, Shinil Intech, Samhwa PNC, Ocean, and Daedong, were selected as excellent long-standing companies.

The selected companies will receive a Pohang Excellent Long-standing Company certificate, a plaque, and a signboard. During the three-year honor period, benefits such as postponement of local tax audits and preferential support for city SME operating funds will be provided.
