Gold Bar Found at Seoul Apartment Recycling Station
Hidden Between CD Players... Discovered by Staff
Recently, a gold bar was found at the recycling sorting station of an apartment in Seocho-dong, where the actual transaction price for sales is approaching 3 billion KRW.
On the 3rd, a post titled "The Prestige of the Recycling Sorting Station at Seoul A Apartment" was uploaded on an online community. The author, Mr. A, said, "The scale of lost items in this apartment is extraordinary," and shared a photo of a notice posted at the apartment.
According to the notice posted by Mr. A, the A Apartment Life Support Center stated, "On the 27th, an employee working at the recycling sorting station found a gold bar inside a CD player case," and added, "We ask the resident who discarded the CD player to contact the Life Support Center to go through the verification process and retrieve the gold bar."
They continued, "If you provide information about the location of the recycling sorting station where the CD player was discarded and the shape of the CD player case, we will check the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and return the gold bar," and stated, "If the owner does not come forward by the 5th of this month, we will report it to the police."
Netizens who saw the notice reacted with comments such as, "The lost item is a gold bar," "Did someone throw away their emergency fund?" "Not even a gold ring, but a gold bar lost," "I should go rummage through that apartment’s recycling sorting station," and "An apartment where gold bars are thrown away in the recycling center."
Meanwhile, according to the Korea Exchange, the domestic gold price on the 7th is 392,062 KRW per don (3.75g). This price is a 0.22% increase compared to the previous day, and the highest price in the past year is 111,140 KRW per gram.
