Performance at Busan Yeongdo Culture and Arts Center and Others
Dongmyung University (President: Jeon Ho-hwan) announced on the 3rd that the School of Entertainment and Arts (Dean: Lee Wooyoung) is currently on tour with "The Magic Flute Story of Mozart and Mozzarella" (Grand Opera Company, Director: Ahn Jihwan), a reimagined version of Mozart's opera "Die Zauberflote," under the direction of Visiting Professor Jung Hongseop.
This production was performed at the Sejong Chamber Hall of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts for three consecutive years from 2015 to 2017, achieving a rare audience seat occupancy rate of 97%.
As an interactive performance with audience participation, it offers a unique experience by breaking down the boundaries between the stage and the audience.
Supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the event is hosted by the Arts Management Support Center and the Grand Opera Company. The tour includes performances at Yeongdo Cultural Arts Center in Busan (June 15), Buk-gu Cultural Arts Center in Ulsan (July 4), and Chuncheon Puppet Theater (July 13).
Director Jung Hongseop double-majored in acting and contemporary dance, and has worked in theater productions with the National Theater Company of Korea as well as in musicals and dance dramas with the Seoul Performing Arts Company under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Currently, as a visiting professor at Dongmyung University's School of Entertainment and Arts, he teaches courses on media content and entertainment trends, and researches new convergence between mass media and pure performing arts.
