Na·Won Campaigns at Key Sites Including Seomun Market
Yoon Emphasizes "Administrative Integration" in TK from the Start
Han Conducts Media Interviews and Campaigning in Seoul
Among the People Power Party presidential candidates, Na Kyung-won, Won Hee-ryong, and Yoon Sang-hyun are scheduled to carry out their campaign activities in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk (TK) region on the 3rd, excluding candidate Han Dong-hoon. Han, who was rejected meetings with key local government heads such as Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo and Gyeongbuk Governor Lee Cheol-woo, has been staying only in Seoul for several days.
Candidate Na visited Incheon in the morning to meet with Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok, city council members, and Son Beom-gyu, the city party committee chairman. At the meeting, Mayor Yoo reportedly expressed support, saying, "My connection with candidate Na Kyung-won has already lasted 20 years," and "I know how you have consistently protected and worked hard for the party."

Candidate Na was scheduled to visit Daegu Seomun Market with Supreme Council member candidate Kim Jae-won but canceled the plan due to participation issues in the filibuster related to the 'Chae Sang-byeong Special Prosecutor Act.' Na stated, "We must allow (Kim's) candidacy," and supported Kim as "the only candidate from the Yeongnam region." Kim was initially disqualified in this party convention's qualification screening but had the cutoff decision overturned after an appeal.
Candidate Won held meetings in the morning with Chungnam Governor Kim Tae-heum and Sejong Mayor Choi Min-ho. Governor Kim Tae-heum had previously refused a visit from candidate Han. After visiting the Chungnam region, Won plans to move to Daegu in the afternoon to greet market vendors at Seomun Market, including Jang Young-gi and Park Geum-mi, a couple who serve as his campaign sponsors. This couple has operated a fabric store and a hanbok shop at Seomun Market since before the Korean War.
Candidate Yoon began his day touring the TK regional party committees. Prior to this, at the Asia Forum 21 policy discussion with Daegu-Gyeongbuk journalists, Yoon expressed the opinion that "the TK administrative integration must proceed properly and quickly." He emphasized, "The TK economy has not transitioned from textiles and electronics to cutting-edge industries. We need to establish national industrial complexes for bio, batteries, and semiconductors."
Meanwhile, candidate Han only carried out his schedule in Seoul. In the morning, Han attended a research meeting of the Seoul District Mayors Association and had lunch with the People Power Party Silver Generation Committee operating members in Yeouido. After failed meetings with Mayor Hong, Governor Lee, Governor Kim of Chungnam, and Mayor Lee Jang-woo of Daejeon, Han has recently not scheduled any regional activities.
