The goal of this project is to find a path of mutual growth by linking with local tourist attractions, cooperate with small business owners in the region, and establish a system that allows the market merchants' association to sustain itself even after the support project ends.

To this end, Gokseong-gun plans to transform the image of the traditional market by utilizing the region’s history and stories, increase sales income, and revitalize the market to enhance customer satisfaction.

The second-year project will be carried out through four sub-projects: development of specialized products and services, OTO promotion, themed markets, and creation of specialized spaces.

In particular, through the Chikchikpokpok Saturday Market held twice a month on weekend market days, the project plans to showcase a vision of a tourism-specialized market, and breathe new life into the market by designing spaces using color design and eco-friendly elements.

Additionally, various events will be added to provide visitors with memorable experiences.

Kim Hwan-ho, head of the Gokseong Train Village Traditional Market Cultural Tourism Market Development Project Team, said, "We will promote to diverse customer groups through the development of local specialized products and content, and active marketing strategies."

Following this, Won Young-su, head of the merchants' association, said, "We will focus on developing Gokseong’s unique specialty foods and creating new business models."

This project, now in its second year, is being promoted jointly by the merchants' association and the project team with support from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Small Enterprise and Market Service, and Gokseong-gun.
