The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will operate a permanent consultative body composed of experts to support students in crisis, such as self-harm and suicide, and to promote students' mental health.
The Office of Education announced that it formed a permanent consultative body of 14 mental health experts, including psychiatrists, professors of addiction rehabilitation welfare, character education specialists, and teachers, and held its first meeting on the 2nd.
At the meeting, they discussed plans for operating schools that promote mental health and support measures for teachers and parents to address students' mental health issues.
Lee Ji-myeong, Director of the Life Character Education Division at the Office of Education, stated, "Through in-depth discussions among experts, we will propose solutions to mental health problems such as depression and anxiety experienced by students and help promote students' mental health."
