The Daejeon City Party of the People Power Party held an ethics committee meeting on the 2nd and decided to suspend party membership for two months for City Council member Jo Won-hwi, who violated the party's stance by registering as a candidate for the second half chairman election of the Daejeon City Council and then withdrawing.
Additionally, Council member Kim Seon-gwang was warned for leading to a disruption by inducing absence from the second vote without a valid reason after the first chairman election vote on the 26th of last month was rejected with 11 votes in favor and 11 invalid votes.
Furthermore, disciplinary action for Council members Song In-seok, Lee Sang-rae, Jeong Myeong-guk, Min Gyeong-bae, Lee Jae-gyeong, Lee Geum-seon, Song Hwal-seop, and Ahn Gyeong-ja has been deferred until the election of the second half chairman is resolved at the first plenary session of the 280th extraordinary meeting on the 3rd.
The ethics committee also decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings against Council member A, who has been accused of sexual harassment, and will discuss the discipline after a clarification process.
