Park Jeong-hyun, Buyeo County Governor, "Will Unfold Future Vitality Without Losing Buyeo's Uniqueness"

Park Jeong-hyun, Governor of Buyeo County, Chungnam, stated on the 2nd, "We will unfold the vitality of a new future with our unique strength that does not lose the essence of Buyeo."


On the same day, Governor Park held a press conference marking the 2nd anniversary of his inauguration at the county office briefing room and said, "The first half of the 8th elected term was recognized externally for its leap forward by turning crises into opportunities amid difficulties."


Key achievements in the first half include △highest grade in the comprehensive public institution integrity evaluation for two consecutive years △early achievement of 75 million KRW per capita agricultural production △opening of the era of 4 million tourists (4.53 million) △attraction of the first global company in Buyeo County worth 50 billion KRW △top national ranking in the local extinction response fund competition △Goodtre, the joint brand for agricultural specialties, winning the national brand award for 13 consecutive years.


As welfare policies that the residents can feel, achievements include △support for academy fees and certification acquisition costs for low-income children and adolescents △Chungnam’s first free HPV vaccination for 12-year-old boys △postpartum care cost support △hospital accompaniment service for elderly living alone △implant support for low-income elderly △increase in veterans’ allowances △improvement of housing environment for descendants of independence activists △completion of two memorial parks for national defense facilities.


Governor Park evaluated, "Last year, we won the grand prize in the national local government job target disclosure system category," adding, "With 74,000 Goodtre Pay subscribers and an issuance amount of 427.1 billion KRW, we have secured a new growth engine."


He presented the main projects for the second half as △construction of the nation’s largest smart farm innovation city concentrating on advanced agriculture and workforce training △creation of a historic and cultural city with four hanok complexes and 1,300 hanok houses (with an investment of 1.31 trillion KRW) △development of Buyeo’s garden city through Baekmagang National Garden (35 billion KRW) and establishment of a garden culture diffusion platform in the Geumgang area (45 billion KRW) △sale of general industrial complex lots and promotion of the 2nd general industrial complex.


Governor Park said, "With a decrease in tax revenue, it is expected that budgets such as local allocation tax will also be reduced next year," and added, "We will reduce long-term projects and proceed strategically with projects."
