The National Gwangju Science Museum will accept entries for the 6th Math Art Contest, which combines mathematics and art, from the 23rd of this month until the 25th of next month.
Now in its 6th year, the Math Art Contest is divided into general division (including university students) and student division (elementary, middle, and high school students). Anyone can participate with works that feature math experience content or express mathematics through art. There are no restrictions on the form, including physical models, video art, or images.
Submitted works will undergo judging and public verification, and the final grand prize winner will receive the Minister of Science and ICT Award along with a prize of 1,000,000 KRW. Additionally, a total of 11 winning teams will receive prizes worth approximately 3,800,000 KRW, including the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Award (Gold), the National Gwangju Science Museum Director’s Award (Silver and Bronze), and the Gwangju Mayor’s Award (Special Prize).
The final winning works will be exhibited during the Art Science Festival in October. All participants will be given an invitation ticket to the ‘2024 Art Science Festival’ (a free integrated admission ticket for four people to visit the permanent exhibition, Children’s Science Museum, and Artificial Intelligence Hall).
