1,304 Male Parental Leave Users, 30.5% Increase from Previous Year

Decrease in Staff Ratio, Increase in Manager and Executive Ratios
According to Samsung Electronics' 2024 Sustainability Management Report released on the 1st, the number of male employees taking parental leave in South Korea last year was 1,304, a 30.5% increase compared to 999 in 2021. The number of female employees taking parental leave increased by 8.1% to 3,173. The return-to-work rate after parental leave was 97.7% for men and 99.0% for women.
The global overall employee turnover rate decreased by 2.3 percentage points from 12.9% the previous year to 10.6%. This marks a decline for four consecutive years since 2019. Additionally, the proportion of female executives rose slightly from 6.9% last year to 7.3%. This is in contrast to LG Electronics' recently disclosed female executive ratio of 4.0%.
The proportion of regular employees among all employees has continuously decreased from 69.3% to 67.5%, and then to 65%, while the proportion of managers (34.5%) and executives (0.6%) has increased. By age group, the proportion of employees under 30 fell by 3.7 percentage points to 27.1%, while the proportions of employees in their 30s (42.5%) and those aged 40 and above (30.4%) increased by 1.2 percentage points and 2.5 percentage points, respectively.
