On the 28th, after having dinner with Hwang Woo-yeo, the emergency committee chairman, at a restaurant in Mapo-gu, Seoul, Choo told reporters, "I received a serious message from Chairman Hwang about the party's situation and the members' intentions," adding, "I will announce my final position around tomorrow."

Chairman Hwang, who persuaded Choo to return, said, "I earnestly spoke about the party's difficulties and the urgency of the National Assembly," and added, "I urged him to promptly return to party affairs and the National Assembly, and he will probably think it over carefully and make a decision soon."

Earlier, on the 24th, Choo offered his resignation, taking responsibility for the results of the organization of the National Assembly. In response, the People Power Party passed a vote of confidence for Choo at the members' meeting the previous day.
