Support for Temporary Home Care, Accompaniment, Short-Term Facilities, Meal Delivery, and Housing Convenience Services

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has established the ‘Gwangjin-gu Care SOS Heatwave Measures’ to protect vulnerable groups from heatwaves and will provide care services until August.

The care services include ▲ temporary home care (home visits and living condition assessments) ▲ accompaniment support (assistance with essential outings) ▲ short-term facility care (facility admission) ▲ meal delivery (lunchbox delivery) ▲ residential convenience (installation of insect screens and summer pest control, etc.), totaling five types of services tailored to the living conditions of the recipients.

The support targets vulnerable groups in need of care due to heatwaves whose income is at or below 130% of the median income. Those who have difficulty moving alone or performing independent daily activities can use the care services.

Additionally, if the residential environment is poor, recipients can receive additional residential environment improvement services aimed at caring for housing-vulnerable groups and preventing solitary deaths.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, “We are expanding the Care SOS services this year to help vulnerable groups endure the summer healthily. We will continue to actively identify welfare blind spots, provide practical services, and do our best to create a Gwangjin-gu without care gaps.”

Meanwhile, Gwangjin-gu is continuously working to manage care blind spots by supporting monthly city gas and electricity bills for energy-vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income households.
