Chairman Goseonjae
Go Seon-jae was elected as the chairperson and Lee Hyun-sook as the vice-chairperson for the second half of the 9th Seocho District Council.
The Seocho District Council (Chairperson Oh Se-cheol) held the 4th plenary session of the 1st regular meeting of the 334th session on the 28th to conduct elections for the chairperson and vice-chairperson for the second half of the 9th term. In the chairperson vote, Councilor Go Seon-jae was elected with 11 out of 16 attending members voting for him, and in the vice-chairperson vote, Councilor Lee Hyun-sook was elected with 9 out of 11 attending members voting for her.
Chairperson Go Seon-jae expressed his gratitude, saying, “I sincerely thank my fellow council members for entrusting me with the important role of chairperson for the second half of the term,” and added, “I will wholeheartedly support the council members so they can fully demonstrate their capabilities.” Vice-chairperson Lee Hyun-sook said, “I will always maintain a humble attitude and work together with my fellow council members. I will also strive for the development of Seocho and the happiness of its residents through checks, suggestions, and proposals with the executive branch.”
The council plans to hold the 5th plenary session on July 1 to elect standing committee chairpersons and complete the organization of the council. The newly formed chairperson team for the second half of the 9th term will begin their term on July 1.
Additionally, at this plenary session, the council approved the 2023 fiscal year settlement as originally proposed and amended and approved the 2024 first supplementary budget for revenues and expenditures.
Of the submitted supplementary budget of 135.5 billion KRW, 796 million KRW was cut from the general account, and the reduced expenditure budget balance was reflected in the contingency fund for disaster and emergency purposes. Major reductions include ▲650 million KRW for pedestrian traffic safety facility improvements and ▲80 million KRW for the creation and maintenance of green belts and street trees.
