District Mayor Jeong Won-o's Promotion to Grade 4 Also Predictable... Director Transfers Executed in Order

Among the elected district heads of Seoul in the 8th term, Jeong Won-o, the only three-term head of Seongdong District, has once again demonstrated a predictable personnel style.

On July 1, Jeong carried out personnel appointments for grade 4 and grades 5 and 6 or below. Notably, in the grade 4 (director) transfer appointments, Kim Young-gyu, who was promoted this time and is set to enter retirement with honors at the end of this year, was appointed as the Secretary-General of the Seongdong District Council.

Along with Director Kim, Na Jae-jin, who was also promoted, was appointed to the youngest director position at the headquarters as Director of the Smart Inclusive City Bureau.

Following this, Lee Jeong-hee, the Smart Inclusive City Bureau Director who has drawn the most attention within Seongdong District Office for character and capability, was appointed as Welfare Bureau Director, and Song Jun-myeong, Welfare Bureau Director, was assigned as Planning and Finance Bureau Director.

Lee Hyun-sik, the most senior director and Administrative Management Bureau Director, is scheduled to enter retirement with honors at the end of the year but will maintain his current position.

Additionally, with two grade 4 promotion positions expected to open at the end of the year, Lee Seon-ha, Head of Education Support Division, was appointed as Head of the Autonomous Administration Division, and Kang Jong-sik, Head of Senior and Disabled Welfare Division, was appointed as Head of the Welfare Policy Division.

These two individuals have a high likelihood of being promoted to grade 4 at the end of the year.

Personnel appointments by Jeong Won-o, head of Seongdong District, are thus regarded as predictable. Amid such evaluations, Seongdong District is seen as having a strengthened sense of organizational stability.

A Seongdong District official stated, “The predictability of personnel appointments shows that the organization’s stability is relatively high.”
