The 'Maehol (買忽) Venture Forum,' a public-private-academic council involving entrepreneurs from the Suwon area in Gyeonggi Province, universities, investment firms, and business-related organizations, has been launched.
On the 27th, Suwon City announced on the 28th that it held the launch ceremony of the Maehol Venture Forum at the city hall's medium conference room, attended by large and medium-sized enterprises, universities, accelerators (AC), venture capitalists (VC), and small and medium business-related organizations. Maehol is the name of Suwon during the Three Kingdoms period.
Co-hosted by Suwon City and Sungkyunkwan University, the Maehol Venture Forum includes Suwon-based companies, IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, Saebit Fund Management Company, accelerators, knowledge industry centers, business support centers, startup incubation centers, and industry-academic cooperation foundations from Sungkyunkwan University, Kyonggi University, Kyung Hee University, Seoul National University, and Ajou University.
Mayor Lee Jae-jun of Suwon and Vice President Choi Jae-bung of Sungkyunkwan University read the launch declaration, stating, "This is a time when a public-private-academic council is more necessary than ever for industrial innovation in the Republic of Korea," and emphasized, "The Maehol Venture Forum will serve as a platform where companies, investors, experts, and local governments collaborate to generate new ideas, drive innovation, and lead corporate growth and sustainable development."
