Jeonbuk Provincial Council Elects Five Standing Committee Chairs for the Second Half Term

"Focusing Legislative Capabilities on Realizing Provincial Residents' Happiness"

The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Council held the 2nd plenary session of the 411th extraordinary meeting on the 27th and elected five chairpersons of the standing committees for the second half of the 12th council.


The standing committee chairpersons elected on this day are Choi Hyung-yeol (Jeonju 5), Chairperson of the Planning and Administration Committee; Lim Seung-sik (Jeongeup 1), Chairperson of the Agriculture, Welfare, and Environment Committee; Kim Dae-jung (Iksan 1), Chairperson of the Economy, Industry, and Construction Committee; Park Jeong-gyu (Imsil), Chairperson of the Culture, Safety, and Firefighting Committee; and Jin Hyung-seok (Jeonju 2), Chairperson of the Education Committee.


The term of office for the standing committee chairpersons is two years, until June 30, 2026.

Choi Hyung-yeol, Chairperson of the Planning and Administration Committee, emphasized, "I will create a committee that plays a pivotal role in the 100-year future of Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province by gathering wisdom and cooperating with the council members."


Lim Seung-sik, Chairperson of the Agriculture, Welfare, and Environment Committee, stated, "I will meticulously take care of every aspect of agriculture, welfare, and the environment without neglect."


Kim Dae-jung, Chairperson of the Economy, Industry, and Construction Committee, said, "With a heavy sense of responsibility and mission for the sighs and urgency of the residents, I will overcome the current difficult situation together with the council members."


Park Jeong-gyu, Chairperson of the Culture, Safety, and Firefighting Committee, remarked, "I will do my best to ensure that a safety culture guaranteeing the happy lives of the residents takes root."


Jin Hyung-seok, Chairperson of the Education Committee, expressed, "The development of Jeonbuk education is the cornerstone, driving force, and future vision of Jeonbuk Province’s development, and we have been entrusted with this special mission."


The Jeonbuk Provincial Council plans to hold the 3rd plenary session on the 28th to elect the chairperson of the Operations Committee for the second half.


Earlier, on the 26th, Moon Seung-woo (Gunsan 4) was elected as the chairperson of the 12th Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Council for the second half, and Lee Myeong-yeon (Jeonju 10) and Kim Hee-su (Jeonju 6) were elected as vice-chairpersons.
