National Mokpo University Jeonnam Global Innovation Forum Launch Ceremony
The “Glocal University-Jisan-Hak-Yeon Cooperation Governance Launch Ceremony” jointly hosted by Mokpo National University (President Song Ha-cheol) and Jeollanam-do Province (Governor Kim Young-rok), and organized by Mokpo National University, will be held at 11 a.m. on the 2nd of next month at Mokpo National University (Dorim Campus).
According to Mokpo University on the 27th, about 200 people including the Governor of Jeollanam-do, local members of the National Assembly, basic local governments and councils, regional public institutions, overseas and local companies, and regional universities will attend the launch ceremony to proclaim the vision of Mokpo National University Glocal University and hold the Jeonnam Global Innovation Forum inauguration ceremony.

The Jeonnam Global Innovation Forum of Mokpo National University is a platform to establish policy directions through discovering regional-global cooperation project demands and to share and spread innovation achievements.
The forum’s co-chairs are the Governor of Jeonnam Province and the President of Mokpo National University, with advisors and committee members respectively appointed. The forum is scheduled to operate regularly twice a year, and regional innovation demands derived from the forum will be developed into projects and carried out. Innovation cases will be included in the Jeonnam Regional Innovation Report, published annually to disseminate innovation achievements.
President Song Ha-cheol of Mokpo National University, the event organizer, stated, “This Jeonnam Global Innovation Forum is composed of major institutions necessary for regional innovation in Jeonnam, establishing a joint partnership among regional universities, local governments, and industries, and leading regional innovation through joint execution of regional development tasks.” He added, “It will be an open promotion system to nurture local talent and contribute to regional economic development, thereby overcoming the crisis of regional extinction.”
The launch ceremony of the Glocal University-Jisan-Hak-Yeon Cooperation Governance at Mokpo National University will proceed with the proclamation of the vision of Mokpo National University Glocal University, introduction of the governance, inauguration of the Jeonnam Global Innovation Forum, and signing of an agreement for mutual growth between Mokpo National University and Jeollanam-do Province.
