Doosan Construction Wins Contract for National Road No. 59 Section Yeongok~Hyeonbuk... Worth 102.7 Billion KRW

Doosan Construction announced on the 27th that it has won the contract for the "National Road No. 59 Yeongok~Hyeonbuk Road Construction Project (Section 2)."

This project aims to improve a narrow and structurally poor single-lane section of National Road No. 59 into a two-lane road to provide traffic convenience to road users and promote balanced regional development. Of the total length of 7,340 meters, 3,450 meters consist of tunnels, an area where Doosan Construction has a strong advantage. The total construction cost is 114.1 billion KRW, with Doosan Construction, the lead company, securing 102.7 billion KRW. The construction period is 84 months from the start date.


A total of 29 companies participated in the bidding, and Doosan Construction was selected as the top candidate in the comprehensive evaluation through the bid opening on the 10th of last month. After further evaluation, it was awarded the contract on the 26th of this month.


Doosan Construction, with extensive experience in road tunnels and subway construction as well as related technical expertise, is confident in timely completion of this project. In April, Doosan Construction successfully completed the 'Sangdang Tunnel,' which is 4,027 meters long and ranks as the fourth longest tunnel among national roads nationwide, as part of the 'Cheongju City 3rd Bypass Road' that opened. Additionally, the company participated in the Shinbundang Line project, Korea's first privately proposed railway project operated unmanned, handling route planning, construction, and operation, thereby solidifying its market position in the transportation infrastructure sector.


A Doosan Construction official stated, "Based on our expertise and technical skills in the transportation infrastructure field, we are steadily advancing projects in civil engineering as well," adding, "We will do our best to provide safe and comfortable transportation infrastructure for the public."
