Naju-si Completes Intensive Safety Inspections at 105 Multi-use Facilities and More

Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Yoon Byung-tae) has successfully completed the ‘2024 Korea Safety Transformation Intensive Safety Inspection’ to ensure the safe daily lives of its citizens.

According to the city on the 27th, the intensive safety inspection is a safety activity aimed at identifying and improving risk factors, focusing on multi-use facilities and safety-vulnerable areas that require inspection, to realize a ‘Safer Korea Together with the People.’

This year’s inspection was conducted over 61 days from April 22 to June 21, targeting 105 locations including bridges, tourism and accommodation facilities, landslide risk areas, medical institutions, and children’s playgrounds.

More than 420 related public officials and private experts participated in this inspection. Minor issues were corrected on-site at 23 locations, and urgent safety measures as well as repairs and reinforcements are planned for 29 locations where defects and risk factors were identified.

Deputy Mayor Ahn Sang-hyun conducted on-site inspections of four target facilities earlier this month and held a final report meeting with 14 related departments on the 13th.

The city distributed self-inspection checklists for households to approximately 60,000 households in the jurisdiction, and visited the Naju branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association and apartment management offices to hold on-site meetings, distributing the checklists and providing guidance on inspection methods to encourage voluntary participation from citizens.

Deputy Mayor Ahn Sang-hyun said, “Facilities requiring repairs and reinforcements identified during the inspection will be addressed promptly and accurately. We ask for thorough management of facilities vulnerable to safety in preparation for the upcoming rainy season.”
