Kang Min-su, the newly nominated candidate for Commissioner of the National Tax Service (NTS) and current Commissioner of the Seoul Regional Tax Office, is a seasoned tax official who entered public service in 1994 through the 37th Administrative Examination and has held key positions in taxation, planning, and tax administration.

President Yoon Suk-yeol nominated Commissioner Kang as the 26th Commissioner of the National Tax Service on the 27th.

Candidate Kang graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Business Administration and earned a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Birmingham in the UK. He gained practical tax administration experience at field offices such as the Busan Jeju Tax Office and the Central Anyang Tax Office, and served in the headquarters as Planning and Finance Officer, Information Systems Manager, and Planning and Coordination Officer.

The Presidential Office described Candidate Kang as "the right person to steadily carry out the National Tax Service's key tasks based on his extensive experience in overall tax policy and outstanding communication skills."

Although the Commissioner of the National Tax Service holds a vice-ministerial rank, as the head of a key power institution, the nominee must undergo a confirmation hearing in the National Assembly.
