"Unidentified 6 Individuals Also Secured DNA Comparison Samples"
Among the 23 deceased in the fire accident at the Arisel factory located in Jeongok-ri, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, the identities of 17 have been confirmed.
Min Gilsu, head of the regional accident response headquarters for the Hwaseong Arisel factory fire accident and director of the Central Employment and Labor Office, explained in a briefing on the 27th, "As of 10 a.m. today, the identities of 14 additional deceased have been confirmed out of the 20 previously unidentified victims." Accordingly, the number of confirmed deceased in this accident has increased to 17.

The confirmed deceased by nationality are ▲4 Koreans ▲12 Chinese ▲1 Laotian. By gender, there are ▲5 males ▲12 females. Among the 13 foreigners, their visas are ▲7 F-4 Overseas Korean visas ▲1 F-5 Permanent Resident visa ▲2 F-6 Marriage Immigrant visas ▲3 H-2 Visiting Employment visas.
Director Min stated, "We will expedite the identification of the remaining 6 unidentified victims as much as possible," adding, "All comparison samples necessary for this have already been collected."
Regarding the search and seizure conducted the previous day by the Gyeonggi Employment and Labor Office and the Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency on Arisel and other companies related to this incident, Director Min said, "We are currently verifying and analyzing evidence necessary to clarify responsibility under the Serious Accident Punishment Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act," and added, "We will thoroughly investigate the cause of the fire and responsibility and take strict measures."
He also announced an emergency inspection plan for battery companies. Director Min explained, "Yesterday, we instructed about 500 battery manufacturing workplaces to conduct self-inspections," and added, "Considering risk factors, we plan to select about 100 battery manufacturers for urgent on-site guidance."
