Sancheong County Holds Master Class on Patented Cuisine

Cooking Recipe Class Using Local Agricultural Specialties
Experience Sancheong Patented Fermented Soybean Paste and Raw Ham

Sancheong County in Gyeongnam announced on the 27th that it will conduct the "Sancheong Patent Food Master Class" to promote patented dishes utilizing local agricultural specialties.


This program is designed to allow participants to experience Sancheong patented Gangdoenjang and fermented raw ham, and to teach recipes using Sancheong Black Pork and local agricultural products.

The classes will be held from the 28th to July 26th, starting every Friday at 1:30 PM. The program is open to Sancheong County residents who wish to participate, with about 20 people per class. The sessions will take place at the Culinary Science Practice Room in the Lifestyle Culture Information Center of the Sancheong County Agricultural Technology Center.


The instructors include Lee Yoonju, a professor in the Department of Culinary Arts at Kyungnam University and a certified master chef who is a disciple of Korea Food Master Jung Gyeim, as well as Park Youngbeom, former director of the National Institute of Animal Science, and an expert from the Gyeongnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services.


The detailed curriculum covers eight dishes, including: ▲ Characteristics of black pork and tips for selecting quality meat ▲ Sancheong patented Gangdoenjang using black pork ▲ Cooking methods using fermented raw ham ▲ Black pork apple bibim noodles ▲ Black pork potato cutlet ▲ Dried persimmon tteokgalbi ▲ Black pork jangyuk, among others.


The county expects that this program will play a significant role in promoting the excellence of Sancheong's agricultural specialties and distributing locally developed signature dishes.


In addition, starting with the Sancheong Patent Food Master Class, the county plans to offer a total of seven courses, including herbal boiled pork education and more.
