Starting with home repairs for semi-basement houses inhabited by people with severe disabilities in 2022, the city completed residential environment improvement work for 57 households by June this year. Since last year, the target group has expanded to include elderly and child households, and from this year, the support scope has been extended to low-rise houses below the minimum residential area (26㎡ for a two-person household). Companies such as Daewoo Construction, Hyundai Livart, Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, Habitat for Humanity Korea, and Korea Gas Corporation have provided assistance.

The Seoul Chapter of the Korea Housing Construction Association, which signed the agreement this year, will directly undertake home repairs for 10 semi-basement and low-rise houses. Construction companies affiliated with the association will be responsible for one household each. These include Gwanjeon General Construction, Daesin E&D, Moai NC, and Banseok General Construction. The Seoul Social Welfare Council will recommend vulnerable households and handle donation receipt processing.

Han Byung-yong, Director of the Housing Policy Office, said, "The public-private cooperative housing safety accompaniment project is different from other home repair projects of the city in that it provides more meticulous support, including those who were previously in blind spots due to income and asset conditions and could not receive support." He added, "We aim to support a total of 50 households this year and will continue to promote the project by signing agreements with more companies and non-profit organizations."
