Geumcheon-gu Office Children's Water Playground 'Geumnarae Mulcheombeong Rest Area' Opens on the 29th

Articles are being reported daily that record-breaking heat is expected this summer. Instead of stressing over traffic jams while traveling far for summer vacation in the scorching heat, how about visiting a nearby district office water playground that is easy on the budget?

Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will operate the water play facility "Geumnarae Mulcheombeong Rest Area" inside the government building from June 29 to August 25.

"Geumnarae Mulcheombeong Rest Area" is a water playground inside the government building that the district operates every summer. It has ankle-deep water depth suitable for splashing around, allowing infants and elementary school students to safely enjoy water play.

It is also conveniently accessible by public transportation, just a 1-minute walk from Geumcheon-gu Office Station on Subway Line 1.

The facility operates daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is closed every Monday for maintenance. The target users are infants and elementary school students, and guardians may accompany them.

To maintain the water quality at the highest level, the district cleans the bottom and replaces the water daily, and plans to immediately replace the water if contaminants are detected through continuous inspections. Additionally, chlorine sterilization and filtration devices are operated to meet water quality standards for water play facilities, and regular water quality tests will be conducted with results posted.

Great efforts are also made for safety management. Ahead of this year’s opening, the district removed stone structures such as stepping stones inside the water playground to create a safer environment. Safety personnel will be stationed at all times to guide users so they can enjoy water play safely.

For user convenience, simple changing booths will be installed where visitors can change clothes before and after water play. Simple water play supplies will also be provided to enhance the fun.

A resident who visits here every year with their children said, “It’s great to have a water playground near home where children can safely enjoy themselves,” and expressed satisfaction, saying, “Above all, I feel that the water management is very well done.”

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We will do our best to manage the Geumnarae Mulcheombeong Rest Area safely and cleanly so that both children and parents can enjoy water play with peace of mind,” and added, “We hope you take a break at the nearby Mulcheombeong Rest Area and blow away the stress caused by the heat.”
