Barefoot Clay Trail Created on Jungnangcheon Walkway (Jangpyeonggyo~Gunja Bridge), Opening from 26th
Dry Clay Path, Wet Clay Path, Clay Balls, Foot Washing Area, and Shoe Storage Added for Convenience
Tree Maintenance Around Clay Trail Enhances Rest and Healing Space for Residents
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has created a barefoot loess path along the Jungnangcheon Stream walkway (from Jangpyeonggyo Bridge to Gunja Bridge) to promote the health of its residents.
Walking barefoot on the loess path helps break down waste products in the body and contains far-infrared rays, which provide excellent effects such as antibacterial action, improved blood circulation, inflammation relief, and detoxification. Along with acupressure effects, it stimulates metabolism, making it popular among residents of all ages.
The Jungnangcheon barefoot loess path, available from the 26th, is divided into two sections, with a width of 2 meters and a total length of 163 meters, constructed as a dry path. Additionally, a wet loess path (9 meters) for experiential use and a loess ball acupressure path (7 meters) made of round granules to enhance acupressure effects have been installed in certain sections. Located by the Jungnangcheon Stream, it is an excellent walking course.
Two foot washing stations and shoe storage lockers have been installed to enhance user convenience. Around the loess path, over 60 trees including evergreens, deciduous trees, and cherry trees have been maintained, and 10 types of small trees such as hydrangeas have been planted to create cool shade and a bright atmosphere.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “This is the fourth barefoot path we have created following the Achasan Barefoot Path, Garden Barefoot Path, and Guui Park Barefoot Path to promote healthy leisure activities. We expect the Jungnangcheon loess path to become a new resting and healing space in the Junggok-dong area. We will continue to strive to help residents enjoy a healthy and happy life in harmony with nature. I also hope all residents take good care of their health in preparation for the upcoming summer heatwave.”
