Asan Mayor Park Kyung-gwi: "Will Become a Tourist City That Captures the Attention of the Entire Nation"

Revealing Administrative Direction Through Press Conference on the 2nd Anniversary of Minseon 8th Term Inauguration

On the 26th, Park Kyung-gwi, Mayor of Asan City, held a press conference marking the 2nd anniversary of his inauguration in the 8th term of direct election and announced future city administration plans.

"As Asan City approaches its 30th anniversary since its launch, it will leap forward as the nation's top city with the vigor and passion of a 'thirty-year-old youth."

Mayor Park cited the major achievements over the two years of the 8th term as △ a vertical rise in the city brand ranking △ first place for 12 consecutive years in the Chungnam provincial comprehensive evaluation of cities and counties △ the National Police Hospital branch being the first in the construction sector to be selected for a rapid preliminary feasibility study project △ passing the preliminary feasibility study for the development of organic light-emitting display technology and ecosystem establishment project △ and being selected as Korea's first legal hot spring city.

Mayor Park explained, "The city brand reputation ranking of Asan City, which remained around 40th place during the 7th term, entered the top 10 for the first time in the 8th term and recently rose to 4th place nationwide," adding, "It is the number one among basic local governments nationwide."

He continued, "Last year, Asan City received commendations from a record 77 organizations in external evaluations," and said, "All these achievements were possible thanks to the accumulated efforts of my fellow public officials."

Regarding future city administration policies, he emphasized that it is time for the vision of the 8th term to take root and bear fruit.

He stated, "2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the merger and launch of Asan-gun and Onyang City, and it is also the 'Year of Visit Chungnam' declared by Chungnam Province," adding, "We will declare 2025 as the 'Year of Visit Asan' and transform into a tourism city that attracts nationwide attention."

He added, "Once the 'Chungnam No.1 Sinjeongho Art Valley Local Garden' is completed within this year, Asan will solidify its position as a cultural and tourism city attracting national attention, as well as a natural ecological tourism city harmonizing lakes and mountains," and said, "Leading the Korean healthcare spa industry's change and innovation will be the 'Healthcare Spa Industry Promotion Institute,' the nation's only hot spring industry institution."

He also promised to establish a practical foundation for mid- to long-term projects such as the development of 'Triport Asan Port' and the construction of the 'Asan Arts Center.'

Mayor Park Kyung-gwi emphasized, "I have never forgotten the support and earnestness of the citizens who opened the beginning of the 8th term with a desire for change," and said, "I will do my best for the happiness of all citizens of Asan City during the remaining term."
