The Mokpo Coast Guard Station (Chief Kwon Oh-seong) announced that the 3015 ship, along with the Mokpo City Hall Marine and Port Department and the Mokpo branch of the Korea Marine Environment Corporation, conducted a marine cleanup activity at Oedaldo Beach and nearby coastal areas on the 26th.

A total of 40 people participated in this activity aimed at preserving a clean marine environment, collecting 2 tons of waste including plastics and vinyl.
The 3015 ship, Mokpo City Hall, and the Korea Marine Environment Corporation Mokpo branch held a meeting in April to establish an organic cooperation system for responding to marine pollution accidents. They plan to carry out continuous quarterly marine cleanup activities targeting vulnerable marine waste areas such as tourist sites and ports.
A Mokpo Coast Guard official stated, “Since small actions accumulate to create significant change, we will continue to promote various efforts, including marine waste collection, together with related organizations to pass on a clean sea to future generations.”
