Actively Promoting Social Contribution Projects to Spread the Values of Happiness and Hope
BNK Kyongnam Bank and Kyongnam Bank Sarang Nanum Foundation have become the first in the banking sector to simultaneously receive the 'Honorary Corporate Donor Plaque'.
BNK Kyongnam Bank announced on the 26th that the social welfare corporation Kyongnam Bank Sarang Nanum Foundation received the 'Honorary Corporate Donor Plaque' from the Kyongnam Community Chest of Korea.
The 'Honorary Corporate Donor Plaque Presentation Ceremony' held at the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Government was attended by Executive Director Heo Jonggu, Gyeongsangnam-do Governor Park Wansu, and Kang Gicheol, Chairman of the Kyongnam Community Chest of Korea, among others.
The Honorary Corporate Donor program is a high-value corporate donation initiative for companies that donate more than 100 million KRW or pledge to donate within three years.
Following BNK Kyongnam Bank, which joined as the 8th Honorary Corporate Donor in Kyongnam last December, Kyongnam Bank Sarang Nanum Foundation has now been listed as the 23rd Honorary Corporate Donor in Kyongnam.
The Kyongnam Bank Sarang Nanum Foundation has carried out various social contribution projects together with BNK Kyongnam Bank, and last May donated 500 million KRW to the Kyongnam Community Chest of Korea for the relocation costs of the Changwon City Workers' Shared Laundry.
BNK Kyongnam Bank has actively participated every year in various social contribution projects and the Hope Sharing Campaign promoted by the Kyongnam Community Chest of Korea.
In particular, to help vulnerable groups such as local seniors and youth, the bank has supported projects such as the Win-Win Job Cafe Woori (Silver Cafe) equipment support project, support for sanitary products for low-income female youth, the Happy Companion project, and educational support for students with health disabilities or in need of protection through the provision of remote learning materials.
BNK Kyongnam Bank Executive Director Heo said, "I believe that BNK Kyongnam Bank and Kyongnam Bank Sarang Nanum Foundation becoming the first in the banking sector to simultaneously receive the Honorary Corporate Donor Plaque is a message from local residents for us to work even harder for the community. As a reliable partner of the local community, BNK Kyongnam Bank will continue to actively engage in a variety of social contribution projects to deliver the values of happiness and hope," he said.
Meanwhile, BNK Kyongnam Bank received the 'Gyeongsangnam-do Social Contributor Certificate' last March in recognition of its warm sharing practices for the local community and its contribution to spreading the culture of social contribution.
The Gyeongsangnam-do Social Contributor Certification is a system in which Gyeongsangnam-do issues a certificate and card after certifying individuals, corporations, and organizations with outstanding records of social contribution activities.
Since its founding in 1970, BNK Kyongnam Bank has supported not only the Community Chest of Korea but also various humanitarian projects promoted by the Korean Red Cross.
